We are looking for a full-time Accounting Technician for our client, a well-established accounting and bookkeeping firm in Ontario. This is of mixed Remote and Onsite ( Remote- Work from home + Onsite at the Cobourg Office).  This is a “top-10” firm in Canada!

The bookkeeper we are looking for will be:

Professional, yet personable, in communication with internal and external clients

Confident to work with multiple clients across various industries, simultaneously

Dedicated to business growth and passionate about cloud accounting

Must be flexible to commute to Cobourg, ON, 3 times a week

The responsibilities in this role will be:

Full charge bookkeeping: end to end bookkeeping for multiple businesses in various industries, both remote and onsite locally in Cobourg, ON

Payroll Management (including T4 year-end forms and summaries)

Maintenance of electric document storage

GST/HST, EHT, WSIB calculations and remittances

Preparation of year-end Notice to Reader working paper files and financial statements

Preparation of year-end personal tax returns (T1s)

Qualification that you need are:

A minimum of 3 years accounting and bookkeeping experience (required)

Experience working in an accounting or bookkeeping firm providing services to multiple businesses and individuals (asset)

Post-secondary education in accounting (required)

Familiarity with bookkeeping for a medical office (asset)

Experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop (required)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate/advanced abilities in Excel (asset)

Experience in CCH Taxprep, Caseware, Sage 50, PCLaw (assets, but not required)

Experience with payroll and ESA for Ontario (required)

Experience with GST/HST for Ontario, and general sales tax rules for Canada (required)
