We are seeking an experienced, full time bookkeeper to join an established accounting firm that provides small business owners full-cycle bookkeeping.  This is a full-time permanent position, 35-40 hours per week, working in-house in Cambridge, with the possibility for some remote work in the future.

The accounting professionals we are looking for will be/have:

The responsibilities in this role will be:    

  • Full-Cycle Bookkeeping through month-end
  • Prepare and process payroll including related government filings
  • Sales tax calculations and government remittances for GST/HST, EHT, WSIB, Corporate taxes etc.
  • Manage bookkeeping, payroll and sales tax filings of multiple clients
  • Regularly communicate with clients via email and phone
  • Supports Bookkeeping Manager with junior bookkeepers
  • Assist with personal tax preparation during tax season

Qualifications & Technology skills that you need are:    

  • 5 years of full cycle bookkeeping (data to month-end)
  • Post-secondary education (college, university, trade) in accounting or bookkeeping (Certificate or diploma), resulting in strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals and GAAP   
  • 3-5 years experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop
  • Knowledge of Paymate and QuickBooks Online Payroll is an asset
  • Experience using Xero is an asset but not required
  • Experience using ReceiptBank is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and Outlook
