We are looking for an Intermediate Bookkeeper (Remote) for a Construction business in British Columbia; this is an Independent Contractor role working approximately 10 hrs. per month.  

The responsibilities in this role will be: 

  • Full charge bookkeeping: end to end bookkeeping dealing with different business areas and stakeholders 
  • Maintenance of electronic document storage and data entry of records 
  • Assists in tracking projects timelines and budgets 
  • Monthly review of bank, credit card and various accounts reconciliations 
  • Preparation of quarterly government tax remittances (GST) 
  • Preparation of year-end financial statements to be reviewed by the accountant 

 Qualification that you need are: 

  • A minimum of 5- 10 years accounting and bookkeeping experience, preferably within a construction business or similar industries 
  • Post-secondary education in accounting 
  • Strong familiarity of construction specific transactions and government remittances ( Eg: T5018, subsidies, cost centres and many more)  
  • Experience with Sage50 (required) 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced abilities in Excel 
  • Document sharing tools including Hubdoc (required)
